Re: Feature Request: Pause at next checkpoint
Interesting. Your CPU slot did save, though: 03:16:22:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Completed 16250 out of 125000 steps (13%) 03:17:03:FS00:Paused [...] 03:17:21:FS00:Unpaused 03:17:22:WU00:FS00:Starting 03:17:22:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Steps: first=7375000 total=125000 03:17:24:WU00:FS00:0xa7:Completed 17072 out of 125000...

Re: Feature Request: Pause at next checkpoint
I think it checkpoints when you pause it. The UI will go back to the last whole percentage point, but when you unpause it the "Completed steps" will show that you've kept your progress since then.

Re: What are the technical differences between CPU & GPU WUs
CUDA is just nVidia's proprietary API for GPU Compute. OpenCL works just as well and has broader platform compatibility due to it being an open standard. I will let others take you apart on that one. It is more than I can bear just to think about it. I don't know what you're trying to say. The Open...

Re: What are the technical differences between CPU & GPU WUs
GPUs use OpenMM on top of OpenCL in an older core 21 or a newer core 22. I hope they have not forgotten about CUDA. Maybe after this mad rush is over (if ever), they can get around to it. CUDA is just nVidia's proprietary API for GPU Compute. OpenCL works just as well and has broader platform compa...

Re: the WU stats page
Amusingly, the text in the "Messages" section at the bottom also changes on the fly when you modify the Project/Run/Clone/Gen input fields at the top. It's a purely cosmetic bug, but I found it funny .

Re: OPENMM_22 (GPU) project WUs completed by... x86?
Are you suspecting mis-labling? You should be! With a 10 to 1 growth rate in under 4 weeks, I feel sure WUs went out without much double checking of the documentation. s1 These WUs are GPU units for sure. It's running on mine right now. The mis-labelling of GPU slots as "x86" is likely on...

Re: OPENMM_22 (GPU) project WUs completed by... x86?
Yes all current (and foreseen) GPU jobs use a x86 to manage the transfer of data from the server to the VRAM on the graphics card. Additionally the CPU periodically checks to be sure the GPU has not gone astray. We occasionally have volunteers who wish they could use GPUs on their ARM boxes, but no...

OPENMM_22 (GPU) project WUs completed by... x86?
So I was looking through some WU status pages for project 14543 , which uses the OPENMM_22 core: Project Server IP Atoms Timeout Deadline Base Credit Core Contact 14543 128.252.203.4 76,540 1.00 7.00 27,234 OPENMM_22 vithanin And here are some of the WUs from Project 14543 that have been successfull...

Re: Is not completing WUs on time useless ?
Yes, projects which cannot be complete by the expiration date are useless. (in fact, they are a slight negative value) (Emphasis added) Do you mean the timeout date? My understanding is that a WU is "reserved" for a client (it won't be assigned to any other client) until the Timeout. If i...

Could it have gone to your spam folder or been otherwise filtered by the destination mail server?

Re: fold-anon / Fold anonymously
I think that just allows it to fold even if you haven't set a username.

Re: Why join a team?
Entering a team number in your client just allows you to have your points count towards the team's total, for friendly competition. It won't change the projects you work on, the WUs you receive, the amount of points they're worth, or anything else.
