Re: Running CPU + GPU results in lower PPD than GPU alone?
I understand what you are saying, but note that I specified if the CPU resources were not at 100% there would be no competition and therefor no real change. If you have defrags/trims/etc running, you would have 100% of CPU resources used, and the low priority would have an effect because the core wo...

Re: Running CPU + GPU results in lower PPD than GPU alone?
I also see this. Changing the priority to something a little higher via the advanced control only changes the wrapper. It does not change the actual core. Effectively, this setting means nothing. However, unless you are running your CPU resources at 100% because of other processes, this should not h...

Re: Windows 10 + nvidia + amd?
Well, I have been folding for more than a day without an issue. It looks like things are working correctly. I still have not quite figured out how windows 10 decides which is the "primary" GPU, but that is a secondary question.

Re: Windows 10 + nvidia + amd?
I put the AMD Radeon RX 570 into the system and it appears to be working just fine. I did not delete in FAH install. I just added another GPU slot and the client seemed to configure it OK. I do think that I am only getting 8x pci on both cards, but I don't think that is an issue. I am pretty sure th...

Re: Windows 10 + nvidia + amd?
Thanks for the information. Sounds like I might have a project to try in the next few days. I will post as to how it goes.

Re: Windows 10 + nvidia + amd?
Interesting. So you think that all I have to do is put the card in a slot, attach power, start up and then download additional drivers? Windows 10 won't get confused between AMD and Nvidia drivers? Did you actually have AMD and Nvidia at the same time, or just one type?

Windows 10 + nvidia + amd?
Hello all, What I am thinking about doing may not be possible. However, if anyone knows how to do it, it would be the people in this forum. :D I currently have an Intel i9 with a z490 motherboard running windows 10 professional. The graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. I have been folding ...

Re: Low on work units?
From what I can tell, this problem has effectively gone away. My new WU download now happen on the first or second try.
I hope others are seeing the same.

Low on work units?
Are we getting low in CPU work units? I have had a couple of times in the past few days where my system took a couple of hours to download a work unit. Is there something wrong with my system, or is there a known issue with the distribution complex?

Never mind. I was looking at a7 cores. When I look at a8 cores, I am using AVX2_256.
My mistake.

Jimbo,
Does the project also decide if SSE2/AVX_256/AVX2_256? I have a brand new i9, but the work units are only using AVX_256 (not AVX2_256). Is there some flag I need to set?

Re: CPU vs GPU work units
I was curious. I just wanted to know if CPU and GPU obtained different information. I guess I was thinking that maybe results from CPU were given to GPU for starting purposes or visa-versa. Now it is clear they both give the same information, but use different algorithms. However, for the purposes o...

Re: new NVida driver and MSI afterburner overclock
Interesting idea. However, on my GPU, the temperature never goes above 66, and the thermal limit is 95 (and the fan is ~50%). What seems to limit my GPU is the amount of power it draws. That will stay around 100% of the TDP. Just goes to show that every system is different (even with the same cards)
