Re: I seem to have received a bad _a8 core update [OS X]

Thank you for for the investigation Joe. It looks like something positive has changed because the machines this morning were all still running and hand not failed on starting a WU. I'll have to look into trying to hack the Xserves to run a newer OS to get a shot at running Core_A8 projects. Apparent...

Re: I seem to have received a bad _a8 core update [OS X]

Update: This morning I checked in to find 19 Xserves stopped with the "FahCore returned: INTERRUPTED (102 = 0x66)" error and 1 still folding. 16 of them failed on 16810 projects, 3 of them failed on 16812 projects. I had ended the day with all 20 Xserves folding along as expected. I did ha...

I'm sorry, I went through the config and pref panes but didn't see where to toggle / enable the beta flag, or is it in an external .xml file?

Re: I seem to have received a bad _a8 core update [OS X]

I thought about doing OS upgrades on them but iirc 10.7.5 is as far as these Xserves can go and the Fah downloadable lists MacOS 10.7+. 17 of the machines are running OK at the moment on other folding, the 20 just seem to fail when they try to start on 16810 or 16812 folds. Sometimes I an go a day a...

I guess I should avoid commenting here.
They are all on MacOS 10.7 and I moved almost all of them to Fah 7.6.21, but have earlier versions like 7.6.13 that didn't seem to matter.

Re: I seem to have received a bad _a8 core update [OS X]

Sorry. I don't know if there are any work-arounds. :( Bummer. I can keep slogging for now since it's not on my side. I'm not familiar with how these sorts of reports turn into fixes. This an Hours, Days, or weeks type of thing to investigate / resolve? I ask because it impacts 20 of my machines and...

Re: I seem to have received a bad _a8 core update [OS X]

Apparently the problem you're having is with FAHCore_a8 V0.0.8 which is being automatically installed/updated. (It has nothing to do with the client version. I'll be sure that the team that's developing FAHCore_a8 knows that starting a new WU causes it to immediately be INTERRUPTED. W o W. *thank y...

Re: [still] seem to receive bad core updates [OS X]

I have about 20 repurposed legacy Apple Xserves running MacOS 7.6. I have run these machines for years and this topic has brought them to their knees. I'm bubbling this topic up again (can create a new one if necessary, but I've been fighting with this issue for a couple of months now easily. I thou...

Re: No WUs again??

I am not getting any WU's either. I used to fold about 6 years ago and started over with 20 machines after reading about this via Reddit. I got one batch through and logged (91WUs) and now they are all idle. They are all set to "Any" and that should catch Covid or anything else, but I see ...
