Re: Sig images

Hi! I tried https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com but my user does not appear in the statistics. Do you know another site that has signatures for Folding@Home? I tried free-dc.com, but they haven't supported it for years https://www.free-dc.org/showthread.php? ... s-possible

Re: Linux Newbie - how to: DL/install - 7.6.9

Hi, As previously disclosed, I'm not Linux guy at all - but that's the box I'm running one of my FoldingAtHome sets on (because: GPU). I'm running FAH 7.4.4. In https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=34466 it's announced that a C-19 sepecific v. has been released. But I can't find it for...

I have the same problem as you with my Debian distro. People should avoid this method with current versions.

Could you provide me with the packages you had to repair or remove?

FAH packages available on a new repo for Debian and Ubuntu

Hi, I'm here to inform you that FAH packages are available through the PatoJAD repository for easy installation. The FAHClient and FAHViewer packages are the same as provided on the official download page https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/ The FAHControl package has been edited to remove the o...

Re: HOWTO: How I got my R9 290 folding on Linux

Thanks, it work for me, but I also need to extract opencl-amdgpu-pro-comgr to detect GPU Navi That reminds me... OP, you don't need to dig out random .deb files to install the AMD OpenCL stuff. In your OP you say that you need/want the free AMD display driver. So do I, for vaapi to work in patched ...

My setup is as follows: Radeon R9 290 (Hawaii) with free software drivers (amdgpu/mesa) Intel Core i7-4790 Linux Mint 18.1 64-bit Linux kernel v5.5.1 I created this guide to share my findings and experience in setting up Folding@Home on this computer. I hope that it can provide some insight and hel...

Is there an option to limit CPU usage by the program? (64bit Win7 Home.)
You can see this to limit CPU and GPU usage https://github.com/FoldingAtHome/fah-issues/issues/1324

Re: Limit GPU usage %?

Hello, is there any way to limit the GPU usage to some %? Currently I can only fold with 100% GPU usage. This is pretty inconvenient, I want to fold while I work but I need my CPU so I thought I could fold with the GPU while working. The problem is that the GPU at 100% usage its very loud and gener...

Re: ERROR:126: Bad platformId size. AMD RX 5500M

I had to uninstall the OpenCL implementation of amdgpu-pro because when I restarted Xorg it did not start because it did not detect the OpenGL configuration. Because of this, the priority is to know why the OpenCL implementation of Mesa does not work properly detecting Bus: NA Slot: NA in FAHClient ...

Re: ERROR:126: Bad platformId size. AMD RX 5500M

Can I change opencl-platform from 0 to 1? what is the parameter? Thanks No, I don't think so. Near the bottom of the System Info tab, you can see that both entries have platform of 0. I think you might need different drivers or permission changes. I'm not familiar with GPU folding on Linux but thes...

Re: ERROR:126: Bad platformId size. AMD RX 5500M

Since you have a Ryzen with graphics and a dedicated 5500M GPU, it's likely that the core is ending up running on the wrong OpenCL device. You'll probably need to experiment with gpu-index and opencl-index in the advanced config to find the correct combination. It's currently trying gpu-index = 0 a...
