Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
logic board clock battery I assume that (in my case) we are talking about the CRC2032 button batteries that power the Real Time Clocks in Zx00s. It's true that the puzzling results were from antique Zx00 devices that I tend to run only once a month or so for for Windows and other updates these days...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
Please make sure to pause any folding before system restart to not lose any work Well, I suppose the 80% complete WU I just dumped by mistake might help me remember this feature of W10 folding, but if it happens again I guess I'll have to put a post-it warning on the screen. So I'm afraid th...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
All is good with 8.4.9 Finish and Pause, so far as I can tell after more systematic testing. :egeek: :D I can't quite work out what Smilies to use because I should perhaps be embarrassed too, but I'm not. It was certainly the case previously that Machines I expected to have "finished WU and sto...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
When I ask the Multiverse about the notoriously horrible status of Windows time, it leads me into the usual swamp that can be summarised as "sometimes". So I am not going there. All the devices are synching via Windows, except the air-gapped one that I plan to use after the collapse of cyb...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
When I ask the multiverse - but excuse me a mo, my little red Nokia 2660 is telling me it is 8PM, and thus the time when electricity is semi-cheap at "shoulder" rates for 2 hours followed by 9 hours of "off peak" followed by 7 more hours of "shoulder", and so it is time...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
I'm pretty sure that all my Windows devices are set to synchronize automatically with the time server time.windows.com , but I'll check next time I visit the attic. There have also been issues if the system clocks are off. If it’s far off, web control may not connect to servers. Though synchronicity...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
Thanks for the info that 8.4.9 "Finish" should behave in the same way as 7.6.21 "Finish and Stop". All I can offer in reply is that it didn't on a device (Z604-CPU only ) left running overnight to finish and stop a WU that was running with ETA 3am, as per a note I left on it. But...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
Fair points. The Forum died while I was editing a reply, but just as well because I was planning to trial 8.4.9 further at that stage. However, I had set some devices in the attic to "Finish" because I was finished testing them. Team Appepi's chart on Extreme overclocking shows a giant lea...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
along the way I might make a stopover at uninstalling and reinstalling 8.4.9 to see if I can tell it what user to credit. Well, that was a good idea, though I say so myself as shouldn't. After uninstall/ reinstall, the 8.4.9 on this Z605 machine had nothing prefilled by the Account in its settings,...

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
Thanks to calxalot for the clarification. If you want different users for each machine, you cannot link them to the same account. But after linking them all to the same account and seeing how that goes, my final conclusion was that remote management is good, but an inflexible implementation that req...

How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
When I first started folding in 2020, mostly using Windows 10 on HP Z- series workstations, I called myself a "Team" and each Machine was a "User", with its own passkey etc. This works fine. The machine/user-specific FaH stats and EOC stats make it easy to check if each device is...

Re: Playing nice With Others
In case it isn't obvious, I am utterly ignorant about how FaH uses my GPUs, but it don't make no never-mind as long as it rewards them with roughly the same PPD for the same cost in electricity across projects. But I figured the Superposition test would provide a fair indication of how gaming use mi...

Re: Playing nice With Others
I tested this "concurrent GPU demand" problem a little - but only for Windows - by running the Unigine Superposition 1.0 benchmark as the non-FaH demand, with and without a concurrent Core 22 Fah Project [19600 (796,0,5772)] on Z805, with an ASUS Turbo GTX 1080. I also ran it with GPU Twea...
