Re: Multiple GPUs and CPUs?

Why is there a group showing cpus: 0 gpus:0? What is its purpose?

Thanks.

Re: Oh my, that's a big one

More likely to be a higher limit set for the number of CPU threads. With 23,400 atoms in the WU, beyond a point using more threads does not increase the processing speed. If this project was using Core_A7 instead of Core_A8 that is being used, domain decomposition errors could also be an issue. Is ...

Re: Project 18409/a8 EXTREMELY large WU???

Ohh, i'm about to switch my 1920x over to folding, might have to go for an upgrade I don't think more cores will do you much good. These work units can only use so many. And FAH does not use much cache. And you would have to pay a lot for faster speeds. But it is your money. Anecdotally, I find tha...

Re: "GPU disabled"- let's discuss

This has happened to me several times. Microsoft should leave well enough alone if you have different drivers, and they seem better about it now. But if your GPU stops functioning, check the drivers first.

Re: Shorter units

IMHO, money is not a good analogy. Money has equal value everywhere, as opposed to computational donations which vary dramatically and are changing all the time. The researchers decide what computational resources work the best for their specific research needs to efficiently produce results. Admitt...

Re: Shorter units

Thank you. I have 12 cores/24 threads and am also running 2 GPUs. What would you suggest as an efficient running thread count?

Thanks.

I seem stuck on getting version 0.0.13. Am I missing something? Intel UHD Graphics? (gen >= 7)

My laptop has Intel UHD graphics, which is "disabled" by FAH. Why is that?

Thanks.

Update on AlphaFold: It is getting much better at what it was designed to do.
