Re: Why not support Intel Gen 7 GPUs?

iGPU offload for FAH CPU core could give upto 20% speed improvement. So if 4 core 4Ghz CPU does 100k PPD then with iGPU offloading could be max 120k PPD total.

Re: Why not support Intel Gen 7 GPUs?

Maybe iGPUs < gen 9 can still be used to accelerate FAH CPU cores in future by using offload?

Re: Need help selecting a Processor

The Jetson Xavier GPU is not so powerful anyway. But maybe there are plans to use iGPUs and such slow GPUs as accelerator for CPU slots? Then also an ARM CPU FAHcore could use the Jetson Xavier GPU as accelerator?

Re: Need help selecting a Processor

nvidia Jetson Xavier seems to have ARM-CPU and CUDA GPU. You can install the FAHclient for ARM but I think FAH will only run on X86 CPU for CUDA GPU work units? And are there any ARM-CPU work units?

Does this give performance improvement for both Nvidia CUDA and AMD OpenCL with FAH?

Re: Heads up: New Win 10 feature in recent updates.

That sound good is it reproducable with other work units too? Then this really would be a recommendation to update Windows 10 to 2004 or newer. Is the option enabled by default or the users need to switch it on?

Re: Need help selecting a Processor

Linux is faster than Windows for FAH and also has lower pcie requirement. For gtx 1060 you can go with pcie 3.0 x1 risers. But e.g. RTX 2080 it would bottleneck some, so for very fast GPUs you would go with pcie 3.0 x4 on Linux. Anyone tested pcie 4.0 x1 risers yet with very fast GPUs? For 6 GPUs I ...

Re: Isn't it time to tune down on COVID-19 projects?

If virus mutates then it will be after many people have got the vaccine. Because then current corona virus cannot spread anymore easily and only the mutated corona viruses survive. Then we adapt the vaccine to mutated corona virus and next season this game repeats. The mutated corona virus maybe is ...

Re: FahCore_22.exe has stopped working

So this FAH error was really a hardware issue.

If you want to do experiment you can try to revive your old GPU.

Re: Own hardware vs. cloud computing

This is more a theoretical issue as you would not expect your own cloud instance to be evil and attack your PC running FahControl GUI. But if you update to FahClient 7.6.21 or later then you are also theoretical safe.

You can also try to run 2 work units in parallel on the same GPU to help with small work units not able to use full AMD GPU.

If this is a single error then you can ignore it as the core restarts itself. But if you get this error more often then it needs to be checked.
