Here is my quick review of the new Nvidia 40 Series graphics cards with regard to Folding!

@PaulTV: Correct - it stayed at the high level for about 20 minutes, then ramped down to the 15 mil level. I have two of the 4080 cards, one from Nvidia and one from MSI and as expected, the performance is similar between the two.

I have been testing the RTX 4080 and it seems to hit between 10 and 16 million PPD consistently, however I have seen it briefly hit 52 million PPD on project 18601.

I spent a little time with it. When set to -1, the cpu:30. I experimented with setting the cpu to 8, 16 and 20 and didn't see any real difference in performance. Project 16969.

CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K

So far I am seeing 200K PPD @5.4MHz out of the box. No tweaking yet.
Motherboard: MSI Z790 Carbon WiFi
RAM: 16G DDR5 Kingston Fury Beast
GPU: RTX4090
Cooler: MSI Coreliquid 280R
PSU: MSI MPG A1000G

I have a 4080 coming soon...

I am seeing between 16m and 22m PPD now. Haven't seen the 26m since the first couple of days on the 4090.

I'll report back with PPD info and power usage.

Not specifically for F@h, but when looking at the raw power as tested by Jay, Steve and all they other youtubers,,, With the CUDA cores it's not surprising to see wild fluctuations on the PPD, even more than the 30 series. I imagine a card like the 4090 just has to fold for the alzheimers projects ...

Right - and 26 is the top for me so far. They way the WU bounce around, I may see higher. Have you seen anyone report what I am seeing, or higher?

I just reviewed the RTX 4090 and I am seeing as high as 26 million PPD so far. Folding starts at the 31:15 mark.

Specifically what info do I need? I can ask Nvidia if I can disclose it ahead of time in the interest of Folding. Worst they can say is "no - wait until after the launch." UPDATE: Wait - I think I found it in the Information About GPUs.txt File thread... Before you do anything else, determ...

Ok thanks for the input. I may have to see what I can disclose prior to the launch as I am under the NDA until then. But yes, I expect it will lay down some impressive folding numbers!
