Re: -bigadv SMP p6097-6099

and it does represent a general performance target. I agree 7im! Problem is that it doesn't meet the minimum required to meet the prefered deadline. And a stock clocked 16 true core / ht core does not exist yet that will meet the deadlines for BigAdv. And that's all I got to say about that! credit ...

Re: -bigadv SMP p6097-6099

In fact, my 12c/24t @ 2.66 Ghz won't make the Preferred deadline consistently on project 8101 so it has been switched to regular SMP. Yes, as previously mentioned; 16 core seems to be some random number to appease the masses but has nothing to do with actual work. Some Intel dual zeons 12 core / 24...

Well actually, each project and each WU ( project, run, clone, gen ) is not the same. Some might cause more heat, some might not.

So it shuts down while your using it?

Did you ever confirm that the fan is coming on?

Re: WU 10125 (53, 0, 120)

If running on v7, could you post your system log? If running on v6.xx, could you post your command line or shortcut line?

Guessing that either something else is running ( task manager will tell as FAH should be top by cpu usage ) or your not running -smp.

Is your GPU ATI/AMD ? Or is it on battery vs AC?

Re: FAH uses too much

Pause or select finish on the GPU folding slot to see if that becomes more user friendly for you. Sounds like the client is running a GPU client which you prefer to use exclusively.

Re: Base points only awarded -No bonus? Project: 7163

I am more puzzled now. Project: 7163 (Run 0, Clone 67, Gen 180) Base points only. Completed and returned 8 hours Project: 7200 (Run 31, Clone 4, Gen 319) Bonus awarded. Completed and returned 7 hours Project: 6990 (Run 0, Clone 129, Gen 178) Base points only. Completed and returned 8.5 hours The la...

Re: There are not enough folders

As P5-133XL mentioned, it is easy these days to pass someone that did years of work on 1,2,5 point WU. I have 41,621 WU completed, but less than a 1000 of those WU are the newer WU. With less than a 1000 new WU, I went from 1Mil points to to 28Mil points.

Re: Poll: Stand-alone client for your OS? Yes/no/unsure

Experts capable of running a console only client are also quite capable of dealing with such things. PG has limited resources. We don't want them wasting a lot of time to make or support separate clients for a very small number of old-school die-hards. ;) To pay the bills, I work on systems in Cali...

Re: Poll: Stand-alone client for your OS? Yes/no/unsure

Hopefully there will always be a console version.

This reduces O.S. dependancies, patches, driver updates, Service Packs, etc from suddenly preventing the client from running.

And as Wilford Brimley says, It's the right thing to do.

ilkyest

You made a comment earlier about only watching the GPU WU. It's the SMP WU that get the bonus. Watch the SMP Work Units and let us know if your bonus shows up.

Re: Detecting and defeating assignment server cheaters

PG provided a solution quite some time ago, 690x are nearing their end and the issue will go away. I wouldn't be so sure they're ending anytime soon, currently there are almost twice as many BA8/BA12 WUs as there are BA16. What servers are you seeing this on? When I look, SMP 8 and SMP 12 have NMJ.
