The min cores is 1 but I find 12 on my R7 3700X is a good base for throughput vs being able to do other things without interfering with folding

Your using the Windows Update installed driver more often than not the Windows Update installed versions do not come with OpenCl drivers included as it's just a basic AMD Catalyst or Adrenalin driver What you need to do is grab the driver from AMD themselves from here https://www.amd.com/en/support ...

Ah I see, okay. GPU-Z is reporting 83-84% usage, makes a million times more sense than windows task manager's usage. If your just after checking temps and GPU usage then use GPU-z and click the sensors tab gives a pretty good reading of all temps clocks and so forth can be set to giv max/avg/min or current reading for all sensor readings
