Re: Core26 released to full FAH ?
At the least a core has to be built, go through validation testing to show whether or not the HIP implementation gives the same results as OpenCL or CUDA. Then they have to figure out the packaging with the necessary libraries, etc. Then test to see if those install properly over at least a couple v...

Re: Problems folding on eGPU
There is no separate advanced control for v8. Under the machine settings, the gear icon, check to see if Keep Awake is checked off. Beyond that I don't have any suggestions as I don't currently use Windows for folding. Responses may be slow as the forum is having some issues.

Re: How to restructure multiple users from V7 to V8
One thing that has been reported as causing a problem, even if you have the PC syncing time to an external source, is the logic board clock battery. People reported that a dead or dying one caused weird issues.

Re: Passkeys/Generating Passkeys
You can use a passkey with any username, doesn't matter which you used to generate it. However each username and passkey pair will need be qualified for bonus points separately by completing 10 WUs. Whichever passkey you don't use will just sit there in the system. If you use the same username and e...

Re: Unsupported GPU
My mistake, mind is fuzzy from a week of being sick. Recognized 1660 as being an AMD model. Unfortunately Windows and driver installs can be painful, and then the client needs to detect OpenCL and CUDA being present.

Re: Unsupported GPU
Where did you download the driver from? MS Windows Update, or direct from AMD's support site? It matters. It may take updating drivers, doing a full restart of the PC, and possibly reinstalling the client for it to pick up the GPU, and whether it has OpenCL support.

Probably means the WS is not uploading the log files with the credits to the stats server for some reason. Once that is sorted out, the points should show up.

Re: Pause folding when on UPS
There is a machine setting to not run on battery. It is present in both v7 and v8 clients. It depends on your OS detecting the on battery state, usually through an USB connection. Folding should pause when the system is on battery, it has worked for me in the past on both desktop and laptop systems....

Re: Potential Future Additions to GPUs.txt? Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 and eGPU RTX 5090M ?
About the only problem might be if used as an external GPU connected through an eGPU expansion. Some people have reported issues on how the eGPU becomes active, and whether it is detected as a PCIe device. I don't know if anyone has posted recently on that.

Re: CUDA vs OpenCL efficiency on Kepler
Nvidia pretty much stuck at OpenCL 1.2 until they recently decided to support a higher version. AMD had gone to OpenCL 2+ but the F@h code was written for the 1.2 lowest common denominator. So any optimizations for 2 weren't used.

Re: MacOS configuration file
Normally you would enter it through the Web Control interface. But if you are talking about a headless Mac, you could use a config.xml file just like on Linux. Location of the file would normally be in /Library/Application Support/FAHClient. That is where the client installer would check for a v7 in...

Re: Nvidia 3080 in ARM (Ampere) Server
Is this something being worked on at all? I had thought FAH was fully supported on MacOS ARM... If you define "fully supported" as CPU folding only, then yes F@h is fully supported on Apple M-processor Macs. But no GPU folding available, and looking unlikely for the foreseeable future. I ...

Re: Nvidia 3080 in ARM (Ampere) Server
Unfortunately there are no ARM based GPU folding cores for the client to download and use on your Ampere server. Currently only CPU folding is supported on ARM systems, the GPU cores are only compiled for 64-bit Intel/AMD for Windows and Linux.

Re: Request to bump species of AMD Radeon 780M
On old, but still good idea with many laptops is to elevate it a bit off whatever surface it is on. That allows some airflow over the bottom case, helps especially with metal cases.

Re: Raspberry Pi4's and v. 8.4.9?
WUs assigned while the CPU thread setting is at a lower number will not us more threads. The next WU assigned and downloaded will use as many threads as there are set.
